09:08 pm - Success!
Yesterday I finished my first proper knitting project! It is a beret and I really like it although it could be a little smaller.
Next thing I want to do is knit a bag and then felt it. I am also still knitting squares for my blanket. I have about 65 so far so I'm probably about half way there :-)
I went to Hobbycraft today and got some more wool and other bits and pieces - they didn't have a brilliant selection of wool although they did have loads of other cool stuff. I would like to find a really good wool shop in London.

08:23 pm - Happy New Year!
Another year, i am still working at CTV and still not doing very well or enjoying it much. I wish I could find something I am good at.
I joined my local amateur theatre as something to do in the evenings but I found it too much as there were rehearsals every night! My work started getting worse so I quit the theatre.
I think theatre might be the only thing I really enjoy though and I need to figure out how to do a course and become an SM without loosing out on money.
On a more positive note I have started knitting again and I am really excited about getting the flat decorated in a way I like :-) I love living with Robin in Ealing and I just need to sort out my job.
I have realised how much I enjoy making things - I would like to do some craft related evening classes, some writing (for real rather than just thinking about it).
There don't seem to be any interesting evening classes around here but there is a knitting group I might try.

Anyhoo, apart from moping about my job I have also been knitting a lot, collecting twigs and leaves to make decorations and looking in charity shops for interesting stuff.

I am planning to go through the charity shops next weekend after payday and see if I can find some decent stuff.
Now is a great time to look for stuff as people are giving there unwanted xmas presents away :-) So the plan is to go to some decent areas of London and see what I can find.

11:39 pm - All sorts of stuff
I have got some nice ideas for abandoned places to visit from members of the community - I might try Atkinson-Morley hospital in Wimbledon.
I am getting a lovely new camera soon - a digi SLR, much as I love my old manual I think it will be easier to share images on the net with a digital.
I am really looking forward to getting out there and taking some pictures to share!
I have also just discovered that the Sci-Fi London film festival is holding a MST3K all-nighter in May! I have to get tickets! The website isn't loading properly but I have the box office number so I will call tomorrow :-)
Fingers Crossed!
We went to see a flat yesterday which was nice. Depending on the price, which I can't remember, I think we may well go for it. Although its not on the hill I am beginning to think West Harrow might be better as we both have to communte (sadly) so I'd rather be nearer to a station.
It also has a nice fireplace and big rooms and is pretty much ideal.

Hopefully we will be ready to move in very soon :-)

10:59 pm - Urban Exploration
The idea of urban exploration is really inspiring me at the moment. I am going to get myself a lovely new camera and go exploring after work now the evenings are getting lighter.
The problem is finding places to explore, there are so many wonderful looking places in the US from what I have seen on the abandonedplaces group.
London is difficult though, abandoned buildings don't last 5 minutes before someone puts up a block of flats.

(Off topic but I have just heard a hilarious programme on bbc radio 4 called Poets Tree, it presented like a real poetry programme but is, as is quickly obvious, a comedy spoof-type show. It is co-written and performed by genius ex-Big Train actor/writer Kevin Eldon. Highly recomended.)

Anyway, where was I...Exploration in London and associated problems. There are all the usual places like Battersea Power Station etc but the problem is getting inside any interesting places. Most of them are locked up or guarded. I don't know where to find places which are genuinely abandoned and accessable within the city area, I don't mind a bit of a challenge getting access but most places I have seen are behind huge fences, razor wire, dogs and guards. Bloody England!
I guess I'll just go and see what I can find :-) I will post any pictures I take.

12:23 am
Have finished uni and am now job hunting with a vengence.
Hopefully will find something good soon, have applied for loads and no interviews so far :-( very very broke at the moment.
Went out for the first time since the smoking ban came in the other day - shite.
As the weather is rubbish at the mo it doesn't improve matters any, standing in doorways in the pissing rain doesn't make for a good night out :-(
I'd like to say I'll give up but I guess I'll be lurking in doorways more often.
Haven't written anything for a while, gonna start again soon :-)

11:41 am - Degree show again.
I realise that previous entry regarding my degree show was useless as the picture was unreadable.
The event is called Dropping Frames, it takes place tonight at the University of Westminster Harrow Campus from 6.30-9.30.
Come and see the film which I produced: 'Stories of Death and Revenge'.
For more info see www.droppingframes.com :-)

09:43 pm - All over!!
My degree is finished!
Barely survived the professional practice bollocks evaluation thingy and made a thoroughly shite impression on the ruling lecturers - drat.
On the other hand I no longer care, as long as I pass the module (hopefully wasn't that awful) I am ok.
The degree show starts on wednesday and I am looking forward to it, I really want to see what everyone has produced!
Have had wonderful weekend of doing bugger all, and not having to feel guilty about it, but now I have to start job hunting in earnest as have run out of cash - double drat.
Will probably end up working in dreaded pubs again, I hate the service industry sooooo much.
Writing ideas are coming along ok now - have a sort of plot for my victorian who-dunnit, although I am afraid that there are too many of these type of stories around at the mo, nevermind though I'm writing it for myself at this point anyway.
Am quite enjoying The Somnambulist by Johnathon Barnes, found Johnathon Strange a bit unenthralling so far but will persevere.
Anyhoo, I am in the uni library at 10pm and I don't even have to be here *sigh*, wish I had functioning internet at my house :-( must go home and have dinner.
Night night.

02:47 am - Mystic London
This is a bit of a long shot but does anyone have a copy of Mystic London by Rev. Charles Maurice Davies?
Its out of print I think and although it is (brilliantly) transcribed here: http://www.victorianlondon.org/ I would like a proper copy of it.
